  National Urban League Movement

Since its founding in 1910, the National Urban League has emphasized a greater reliance on the strengths of the African-American community to find solutions to its own problems. Using the tools of advocacy, research, and program services, the result is an organization with strong roots in urban centers throughout the country. The focus is on racial inclusion, and the social and economic development of people of color.

Today the NUL is  recognized as the premier social service and civil rights organization in America.
